Fears: Other than the chill he gets from the sight of those creepy Spiders, Shuhei doesn't fear the frightening or the dangerous. What others would consider courage is in fact an overdose of confidence which prevents Shuhei from fearing the things that bump in the night or things that could be considered life threatening. The only thing Shuhei truly fears is the image of his father Genryuusai and the fate of his two siblings. Not a day goes by that Shuhei does not think of his siblings and worries about their safety and well being.

Shuhei Minamoto Augmenthappy

Augment Name: Name of augment
Augment Description: Augments are trait of the character that set him or her apart from other characters. These are a bit more extreme than abnormalities. Augments can be like having animal parts. They could also include things like ambidexterity or Photographic memory. These can also be curses, like turning into a werewolf during the full moon. If these aid in combat, they should be really weak, but if they are plot only, we'll trust that people won't abuse them. You can have as many that apply to your character, but the staff will intervene if someone tries to give their character every augment under the sun.

Shuhei Minamoto Historygray

"Three Kings"
On the 22nd of September, half way through the solar Eclipse, three Princes of Edo were born. Parades marched and fireworks blazed as the candidates for the position of the next Emperor were born. The names given to the three identical children were Shuhei, Shuren and Shugen Minamoto. However, because they were identical, when they were born they were each given three identifying marks. On the foreheads of the three children, the nurses painted three different symbols. A circle representing the Sun was painted on to Shuhei, A Crescent moon was painted on Shurens forehead and a Star was painted on to Shugens.

The birth of three sons brought joy and frustration to the Minamoto household. The Emperor of Edo, Genryuusai Minamoto now had to force his children to compete for the throne and be judged by the White Dragon Sanael whom was revered as the protector of the great nation and a deity. Upon the crowning of the next Emperor, the two sons left without a throne would be banished as laws of the country demanded. Three teachers were assigned to each of the children along with a band of Samurai to command, to train them in politics, Etiquette and Combat...

As soon as they were able, the three Princes began their training. Shuhei was the greater politician of the three. Already he had several plans written out to make his country even greater should he be chosen as Emperor. However he lacked the fighting skill and strength of his brothers. His teacher Ex-General Hanzo, though proud of his pupil feared that he may be too weak to claim the throne, however Shuhei's willpower was great and he diligently trained his body and swordsmanship as often as he could.

Shuren was a prodigy and the greater of the three in swordsmanship. However he lacked a great deal of motivation and skipped training far too often. His teacher, Lady Sakura would scold him every chance she got and try to force him to work, less he fall behind and loose his chance to claim the throne, which she feared he would as a result of his bad attitude. In reality Shuren desired banishment over the throne. He wanted to travel the world and see greater things than what there was in Edo. Though the love for his Samurai subordinates who were more like family prevented him from leaving Edo. For running away would result in their execution...

Shugen was the best of both worlds. Intelligent, skilled and Driven... He showed the most promise out of the three, though his anger led him to make brash decisions... Many of the commands he gave to his Samurai subordinates often made them question his intentions and worried his teacher Tenshi. However there was no doubt in Tenshi's mind that Shugen would make a strong Emperor, one that could lead the nation through a successful conquest. It was rumored among all of the townsfolk that Shugen would surely be the next Emperor. Though what happened next shook the foundations of Edo.

"The White Dragon"

On the day of the ceremony to decide the next Emperor, thousands gathered in the courtyard of the palace to witness the Majesty of the White Dragon as well as pay homage to the one chosen by the Dragon as next Emperor. Genryuusai, Father of the Three Princes stood from his throne before his sons who knelt before him and summoned the White Dragon. Each Prince wore identical clothing for the ceremony which would have made it impossible to tell them apart if it weren't for the symbols painted on to their foreheads for the ceremony. A long white Japanese style Dragon descended from the sky, emitting light more brilliant than that of the sun and coiled itself around Shuren! The decision had been made and Shuren was now designated as the next Emperor.

Shocked and baffled, the crowd began to whisper amongst themselves. No good rumors have spread about the slacker Prince and yet he was the one chosen by the Omnipotent White Dragon. It seemed almost unnatural that the Dragons decision could even be questioned. However there seemed to have been other interests on the Dragons Agenda. Shugen, the most promising of the three furiously fled to his chambers, which seemed like a palace itself. Shuhei, the politician praised his brother for becoming the next emperor, even though deep down he felt jealousy. Shuren, more than anyone seemed the most surprised. He deliberately slacked off and made it very clear that this is not what he desired and yet, it is what came to be.

"Treachery"

After the ceremony, the once close brothers were now distanced from each other. Shuren now bearing the burden of being the only brother not to be banished was weighed heavily with guilt and despair knowing he would never be permitted to travel the globe. Shuhei, preparing for banishment gave Shuren all of the books he wrote on politics hoping that they would influence his brother. Shugen hid himself in his chambers, waiting for the time that he had to be banished... He didn't want to meet with either of his brothers less he take out his rage upon the two of them. Genryuusai, though displeased with the decision made by the White Dragon acted normally. He Assigned Commander Tenshi, Shugens teacher as the new head of security to watch over Shuren despite knowing how upset Tenshi was over his student not being chosen as Emperor. This decision was never officially announced however... Shuhei's teacher Ex-General Hanzo mysteriously disappeared the night of the election and lady Sakura aided with the security effort for her master Shuren.

Shuren, unable to sleep decided to go for a walk one night. Strangely enough, there was nobody else in sight aside from the Samurai who escorted him. and by the time he realized this he was attacked by masked Samurai. Being the most skilled of the three brothers, Shuren managed to fend off the Samurai with the help of his own Samurai Subordinates. Their leader was revealed to be Ex-General Hanzo who claimed that only Shuhei could properly maintain peace in Edo and that he would gladly sacrifice himself for his countries prosperity. Angry with the General, Shuhei incapacitated him and his Samurai with deadly skill but not without suffering several injuries himself... Upon defeating the Samurai, Shuren and his subordinates were exhausted and at that moment, the head of Security Tenshi appeared with his own soldiers.

Mercilessly they killed those under Hanzo and Tenshi personally landed the killing blow upon the ex-General stating that it is his duty to kill the ones who mortally wounded the Crown Prince and murdered his Samurai followers. Thus Tehnshi's plan as revealed. Tenshi plotted to entice Hanzo to kill Shuren. Being the teacher of Shuhei, it would be believed that he was responsible for the attack and be executed as well, leaving Shugen as the sole heir to the throne. The Samurai under Shuren were executed along with the remainder of Hanzo's troup and Tenshi battled with Shuhei who was severely wounded at the time.

Without hope, Shuren mustered up the rest of his strength and used a technique taught only to Edo's royalty. An ability passed down from Emperor to Prince to dominate the souls of deceased followers. Shuhei gathered the souls of his recently deceased Samurai brethren and focused their power in to himself and launched a devastating attack upon Tenshi, but to no avail... Shugen appeared seemingly out of nowhere and stopped the attack. Having mastered the ability to manipulate souls as well, he managed to negate the attack and confront his brother for whom he now had a strong hatred for since he was the reason he was to be banished from Edo.

Shugen took it upon himself to deal with his brother. Though he still cared for his brother he could not allow him to become Emperor in his place, even if it was the White Dragons decision that he did. The two fought for quite some time and appeared to be even matched swordsmen until Shuren revealed his trump card. Magic which allowed him to imbue his sword with the souls of his fallen comrades to form a blade with annihilating power. Unable to defend against such an advanced technique Shugen lost and suffered severe injuries, passing out. though the technique was powerful enough to utterly defeat Shugen, it was underdeveloped as stated by Genryuusai who finally made his appearance.

"Dawn"

With what appeared to be a flick of his wrist, Genryuusai cut off Tenshi's head without mercy. It was his intention to lure out those who would harm the crown prince and he had been watching everything unfold until now... As he made his way towards Shugen, Shuren pleaded to his father to spare the life of his brother. Unwilling, The Emperor Genryuusai continued towards Shugen... Determined to save the life of his brother, Shuren threatened to take his own life. At that time Genryuusai began to speak strange things to himself... "Let him do it, its only beneficial to us." "The White Dragon made his decision, we must preserve the crown prince!" Shuren stared oblivious to what was happening, until The Emperor revealed to him that each Emperor is imbued with the souls of all the past emperors, possessing all of their memories, skills and experience... In fact, most of the 50 Emperors living within his body preferred Shugen over Shuren as Emperor, but very few of them dared to go against the Dragons wishes. So, not willing to risk Shuren taking his own life, they spared their favorite Prince Shugen despite his treachery. Dawn approached and the Emperor told Shuren to prepare for his coronation... Several servants began to remove the corpses and take Shugen to his chambers. Shuren knelt, unable to grasp what happened.

Shuhei made his way back to his chambers, slowly where he met Shuhei. Shuhei apologized that Shugen had already left and noted that Hanzo and Tenshi had also already left the country without first seeing the coronation. He apologized for his teachers behavior, not knowing that he attempted to murder Shuren earlier that morning. Shuren didn't want to upset his brother even more since he was about to be banished so he remained silent about what happened... Shuhei continued to speak casually as if everything was still ok between them and even joked about how they would no longer need to keep painting their foreheads to tell each other apart. Suddenly an idea came to Shuren... Quickly he tore off a piece of his clothes and approached Shuhei. "Hold still!" He said as he wiped away part of the circle on Shuhei's forehead, making it look like his own before he wiped off his entirely.

"From now on, you're Shuren and I'm Shuhei."
Dumbfounded, Shuhei questioned Shuren about his intentions. Shuren simply stated that he desired what being Emperor would deny him. The freedom to travel the world and do as he pleases without risking a war. It was obviously Shuhei had the greater intellect would make a much greater Emperor than he ever would. Nobody would ever know the difference between the two of them, except that Emperor Shuren surprised everyone by being such a Grand Emperor. Reluctantly, Shuhei agreed. He couldn't deny that he greatly desired to make his homeland prosperous and somewhat doubted Shurens leadership skills... He smiled and nodded his head. Shuren no... Shuhei placed his hands on Shurens shoulders and wished him good luck as he quickly leaped from the balcony on which the two stood. The new crowned prince turned towards the chambers in which servants waited to properly dress the Prince for his coronation and proudly stepped through the doors.

The new Shuhei made his way to the port where he bought a small sail boat with what money had in his pocket. Being a prince, it was enough to buy a boat and enough supplies for quite a journey. Before he could leave however, he was stopped by someone whom he was not expecting to see again. The Lady Sakura stood before him. He tried to act the part of his brother leaving the country, but Sakura could see through the act as she was the one who spent the most time with him and knew him better than anyone... To his surprise, Sakura smiled and said that she was proud of her pupil. As the teacher of Shuren, she would have to remain behind as the new Emperors Advisor. They said their good byes and Shuhei left the port, sailing to a brighter future. Little did he know what the continent Fiore would have in store for him, but he was looking forward to finding out.
